In a joint venture with Gogoro, Yamaha Taiwan is scheduled to roll out an e-scooter in Aug. 2019.
The model, dubbed "EC-05," will be designed by Yamaha using Gogoro's e-scooter as the structural platform, and will bear the Yamaha brand, but it will be manufactured by Gogoro as the contract producer.

The motorcycle will employ exchangeable battery, which can be swapped at Gogoro's battery swapping stations featuring the "GoStation" system. The EC-05 will be distributed via Yamaha Taiwan's local sales channel.
